In honor of its tenth anniversary, Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union recently launched a “10 for 10 for 10” program in which the corporate donated $10,000 to 10 charities over 10 business days. The charities were chosen through a nomination and selection process driven by Alloya’s credit union membership. In total, Alloya received 101 nominations over the 10-day nomination period.
We are thrilled to report that the 9th winner was REALTORS for Kids, nominated by Northern Hills Federal Credit Union in Sturgis, S.D. Formed in 2003 by a group of individuals from the Northern Black Hills Association of REALTORS, REALTORS for Kids is a non-profit corporation with a mission to distribute funds to children in the Northern Black Hills community to be used for the betterment of children's lives. The organization assists children that are victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment; have either a temporary or ongoing medical condition that requires money beyond what the child's primary caregivers are able to provide; or wish to participate in school and community programs and do not have the funds to do so. Northern Hills FCU has been an active supporter of REALTORS for Kids. “REALTORS for Kids is always there! They have raised and donated in excess of $1 million to our local children over their 18 years of service,” said Melody Fallon, vice president of lending at Northern Hills Federal Credit Union.
