Norstar FCU Begins Search for Next CEO

​Due to the upcoming retirement of Jane Duerre, the board of directors is now seeking a seasoned executive who can build on this growing organization. 
Due to an upcoming retirement, Norstar Federal Credit Union in Britton, South Dakota is searching for their next President/Chief Executive Officer. The Board is looking for a seasoned executive who can build on the vision of the credit union and assist in growing the organization. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, this executive will be responsible for achieving the long and short-term goals and objectives as established in the strategic plan and maintaining the stability and health of the credit union. The ideal candidate will be a team leader, humble, well rounded, strategic, and an excellent communicator and able to lead a team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective. A minimum of five years executive experience with a financial institution is preferred.

Reports to: Board of Directors
 
Position Purpose: Plan, direct, and control all credit union activities in accordance with credit union plans, policies, directives, and activities as established by the board of directors. Responsible for ensuring financial stability and member satisfaction commensurate with the best interest of the members, the employees, and the credit union. Provide strategic direction, vision, and management in all functional areas.
 
Company Profile
Norstar Federal Credit union is a $68MM credit union that started in 1942 and currently has one location. Norstar FCU currently has eight full-time employees and one part-time employee.
 
Job Responsibilities 
  • Direct all credit union operations, which include planning and implementing programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide strategy and/or administrative direction and management in all credit union functions, including accounting, ALM, business development, compliance, facility management, finance, human resources, investments, lending, marketing retail services, risk management, IT and security.
  • Supervise a budget for the credit union that is consistent with the overall strategic plan.
  • Conduct business development activities to promote the growth and development of the credit union; build positive relationships with the field of membership, and with appropriate trade associations and organizations
