Governor Doug Burgum has proclaimed Thursday, October 17th as Credit Union Day (ICU Day) in North Dakota. On this day, credit unions worldwide come together to celebrate International Credit Union Day and the role that financial cooperatives play in improving the lives of their members. CLICK HERE to download a printable signed proclamation. We encourage you to share this with your employees and members, because ICU Day is a big deal! Consider framing and displaying in a visible location or setting it on a table with some refreshments on ICU Day. Share a picture on Facebook and other social media platforms. All credit unions share a common goal to offer access to affordable services to all of their members and provide even the most disadvantaged the tools and the opportunities to be financially self-sufficient. This is the credit union difference that makes a real impact in our communities, in our state, and in our world. This International Credit Union Day, we hope everyone will join us in celebrating the credit union difference, our proud cooperative heritage, and the wonderful opportunities credit unions and cooperatives offer members in the Dakotas.
