Minot area credit unions worked together once again to deliver a bounty of items for the Credit Unions United Chapter food drive. This year, the chapter collected canned goods, non-perishables, household paper supplies and toiletries for Cornerstone Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. Donations were gathered at Affinity, Aspire, Minot Area Schools, North Star, and Town & Country. In addition, branches of credit unions from outside the Minot area collected items in their local markets, which included Kenmare, Velva and a donation to Operation Warm Heart at the Minot Air Force Base.
For the Minot project, DakCU’s Director of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, John Alexander, even stopped by with a donation, assisting the chapter in achieving their goal. In the end, three large carts of food/pantry items were delivered to Cornerstone! Finally, the Chapter also offered volunteer opportunities with four shifts on two occasions working at the soup kitchen, assisting with food prep, serving, and cleanup, making the season a little brighter for many!
