Levo Credit Union Opens In Sioux City, Iowa

2/18/2025

Levo Credit Union is celebrating their seventh branch opening. This time in Iowa.
Levo Credit Union opened its doors today for the first time in Sioux City, Iowa. Levo purchased the former Heritage Bank branch at 4530 Singing Hills Boulevard in early 2024. We have spent the past year gaining regulatory approval, converting member accounts, and planning for this day. Former Heritage customers officially became Levo members today, and Levo took on most of the deposits and loans. The hours of the branch will remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“This is part of our strategy to help more people live better,” says Levo President and CEO Fran Sommerfeld. “We know that Siouxland will be a good fit for us because we have so many things of value we can deliver to consumers and businesses, including low loan rates, high savings interest rates, great service, and a commitment to serving our community.”

Levo has served the Sioux Falls area since 1934, most recently the counties of Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner, and McCook. Levo’s services include checking and savings accounts, auto loans, mortgage loans, home equity loans, credit cards, and business loans. It has been voted the Local Best in financial services for more than a decade. In fact, some members have been with Levo for almost 60 years.

“Our members are very loyal. They love the fact that Levo is a credit union, which means it’s a not-for-profit and is owned by its members,” says Sommerfeld. “We keep our focus on them and how we can help them reach their financial goals, and we’ve grown by over 2,000 members in the past two years.”

In December 2023, Levo announced an expansion of its service area from 4 counties around Sioux Falls to 29 counties along the I-29 corridor in South Dakota, Iowa, North Dakota, and Minnesota. With the opening of the Singing Hills branch, Levo now has 36,000 members and 7 branches. It plans to open another branch in Fargo, North Dakota, by early 2026. Levo already offers online financial services in all 29 counties, including several Iowa and South Dakota counties in the Siouxland area. Levo Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and is South Dakota’s oldest credit union. The not-for-profit cooperative has 36,000 members with six Sioux Falls locations and one Sioux City location. It serves 29 counties in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. For more information, please visit www.levo.org.
