By Kenley Lamberty, DakCU Director of Political Strategy and Engagement Fall Hike the Hill (Congressional Caucus) Now Open Registration is now live for this year’s Fall Hike the Hill, held in conjunction with the America’s Credit Unions Congressional Caucus, September 13-16, 2026. This is one of the most impactful advocacy opportunities of the year, providing a chance to engage directly with federal lawmakers on the issues that matter most to credit unions and our members. Scholarship assistance may be available through DakCU’s Roger Heacock HTH Scholarship Program. Assistance varies each year and is based on the number of qualified applicants and funds available. Members interested in applying for financial assistance should complete the Roger Heacock Scholarship Application and return to me. We are finalizing a dedicated hotel block for our group outside of the main America's Credit Unions block so we can all stay together. This should be finalized this week and will be posted online when available. In the meantime, please let myself, or George McDonald, know if you’re planning to attend so we can keep track and ensure you receive updates. Registration Now Open: PAR for the PAC Golf Event Registration is now open for the PAR for the PAC golf outing! Join us at Meadowbrook Golf Club in Rapid City for a great day of golf and advocacy. The cost to participate is $200 per golfer, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the PAC. Every dollar raised will stay right here in South Dakota to support candidates who champion the credit union movement. We also have sponsorship opportunities available. If you are interested in sponsoring, or know someone who may be, please reach out to me. Don’t miss this opportunity to support advocacy efforts while enjoying a great day on the course! Contributions to the PAC are voluntary and are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. Contributions will be used for political purposes. You have the right to refuse to contribute without any reprisal. Vote in the July 28th Governor Runoff South Dakota voters, don’t miss your opportunity to make your voice heard in the upcoming gubernatorial runoff election on July 28. There are only a few days remaining to register to vote and be eligible to participate, so it’s important to act quickly if you haven’t already. Early voting is also available, allowing you to cast your ballot ahead of Election Day. Check with your local county auditor for early voting locations, dates, and hours. If you’re already registered, take a moment to confirm your status and make a plan to vote. Stay Connected For more information or to share your perspectives, feel free to contact me.
