​DakCU joined a nationwide credit union coalition supporting Senate digital asset legislation that preserves NCUA oversight while promoting innovation, consumer protection and regulatory clarity.

Dakota Credit Union Association Supports Senate Digital Asset Legislation
The Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) joined America’s Credit Unions and credit union associations across the country in signing a letter to Senate leaders supporting key provisions of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025 (CLARITY Act). The groups praised the Senate Banking Committee for ensuring credit unions have a clear path to participate in digital asset services and for affirming the National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) authority to oversee those activities.

The letter also highlighted the importance of maintaining safeguards around stablecoins, noting concerns that allowing issuers to pay interest or yield could disrupt traditional deposit funding that supports lending and economic growth. DAKCU and the credit union coalition commended bipartisan efforts to balance innovation with consumer protection and regulatory clarity, helping ensure credit unions can compete and serve members in an evolving financial marketplace.

Fall Hike the Hill (Congressional Caucus) Now Open
Registration is live for this year’s Fall Hike the Hill, held in conjunction with the America’s Credit Unions Congressional Caucus, September 13-16, 2026.

This is one of the most impactful advocacy opportunities of the year, providing a chance to engage directly with federal lawmakers on the issues that matter most to credit unions and our members.

Scholarship assistance may be available through DakCU’s Roger Heacock HTH Scholarship Program. Assistance varies each year and is based on the number of qualified applicants and funds available. Members interested in applying for financial assistance should complete the Roger Heacock Scholarship Application and return to me.

We also have a room block reserved at the Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC Navy Yard. You must book your room(s) before August 15, 2026.
