As you have read over the last two weeks, our annual DakCU Summit is a busy few days, packed full of various events and meetings. As I reported last week, the Roger Heacock GAC-HTH Scholarship Fundraiser run through our new ClickBid platform was a big success for our Government Affairs Committees (GACs). Our GACs in both states typically stay busy during the conference promoting this annual fundraiser, but each year both committees also hold meetings to renew expiring committee members terms and elect new leadership.
This year the ND GAC renewed expiring terms of eight members to serve on the committee for an additional three years. All ND GAC members serve three-year terms, with one-third of the committee up for renewal each year. Due to the pandemic, members with 2020 expiring terms were not able to be formally approved last year, so these members were pushed back a year to 2021. Following the renewal of terms, the committee held a vote to elect new leadership. Jon Griffin, Chief Lending Officer at Capital CU was elected as the new committee Chairman and Tyler Neether, VP of Business Lending at Town & Country CU will serve another term as Vice Chair. I would like to personally thank our outgoing committee chairman, Scott Schwindt COO at Western Cooperative CU, for his leadership serving as our Chairman for the last three years. During the meeting, the committee also welcomed a new member in Chad Bartosh, Chief Lending Officer at Railway CU in Mandan. Please join me in congratulating Jon, Tyler, and Chad! In contrast to ND, the SD GAC members serve two-year terms with one-half of the committee up for renewal each year. Following the renew of terms, the SD GAC also held a reorganizational meeting to consider new leadership. The committee elected to approve the current committee leadership to serve an additional two-year term. Congratulations to Joey Rotert, VP of Marketing & Business Development at Sioux Falls FCU, as well as Chad Moller, Chief Growth Officer at Dakotaland FCU who will continue to serve as committee Chair and Vice Chair in SD. We appreciate your leadership!
