Pints & Politics across South Dakota Last week was busy! The DakCU advocacy team hosted three Pints & Politics events at different locations across the state including Huron, Yankton, and Sioux Falls. I was extremely happy with the turnout at each of these events from our credit union members and especially our legislators and candidates running in the districts surrounding those towns. Not only did we have great discussions about the work our credit unions are doing across the state, but we also addressed key policy areas at the state and national level that our advocacy team has been focusing on. It was also wonderful hearing from our candidates and legislators about their platforms and the legislative areas they have been involved in during previous sessions as well. I thank all who helped make these meetings a major success in each of our South Dakota communities! South Dakota’s Credit Union Legislative Day.
It is hard to believe that the 2025 legislative session is right around the corner! We will be hosting our annual South Dakota Credit Union Legislative Day on January 15, 2025, in Pierre, SD at Red Rossa. We have a full day of credit union advocacy planned, paired with our annual Legislative Social! It’s crucial we have a large representation of credit union professionals joining us for this valuable event which annually welcomes upwards of 70+ legislators from across our great state of South Dakota. To learn more about this event, feel free to contact me or view our event page. Plan now for 2025 GAC! Join us in Washington D.C. from March 2 – 6 for the 2025 Government Affairs Conference (GAC), the credit union industry’s largest advocacy event. This annual conference brings together thousands of leaders from across the country to advocate on behalf of our credit union members. For more information about this event, visit the “One Stop GAC Shop” on our website. You also can apply for a Roger Heacock Scholarship. We are offering four scholarships valued at $2,500 each for attendees of the 2025 GAC—two candidates each from South Dakota and North Dakota will be selected. Interested? Email me today or apply here. The deadline to apply is November 29th. Comments are closed.
