Sunshine, swings, and strong advocacy came together in Garretson last week for the second annual Par for the PAC: South Dakota Credit Union Advocacy Golf Classic. Hosted at River Ridge Golf Course, the event brought 19 teams together for a full day of fun, connection, and purpose and it didn’t disappoint. This year’s tournament wasn’t just about friendly competition on the fairways. It was a chance to strengthen relationships with key decision-makers, spotlight the power of credit unions, and raise funds to support advocacy efforts for years to come. What made this year’s event really stand out was the incredible turnout. Several state legislators joined us on the course, along with representatives from all three federal offices serving South Dakota. That level of engagement speaks volumes. It shows how much momentum credit union advocacy has in our state and just how valuable face-to-face relationship-building can be when it comes to public policy. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, teams, and donors, we raised $6,000 for the South Dakota Credit Union PAC and another $14,000 for the South Dakota Advocacy Scholarship Fund, bringing in more than $20,000 in profit for advocacy. That’s a huge win for our movement and a powerful investment in future leaders and legislative efforts. From the scenic views at River Ridge to the lively hole sponsors and prize giveaways, the day was packed with energy and good vibes. It was also a great reminder that when we come together with shared values and a common goal, big things happen. This event wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and vision of the South Dakota GAC. The 2024 committee includes Cassie Pannone, Chad Moller, Deedee Wilking, Guy Trenhaile, Hannah Taylor, Jarrod Reisner, Jay Kruse, Jaymason Bramblee, Joey Rotert, Misty Winter, and Tiffany Mutchler. Their dedication to advocacy and organizing behind the scenes made this day a success from start to finish. A huge thank you also goes out to our incredible volunteers Dawn VanAsh, Dillon Grubbs, Lisa Snedeker, and Mallory Wells, who helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Their hustle, attention to detail, and positive energy were unmatched. As Par for the PAC wraps up its second year, it’s clear this isn’t just a golf tournament. It’s a movement. It’s proof that South Dakota’s credit union community is strong, organized, and ready to show up for the issues that matter most. Comments are closed.
