![]() Fall Hike the Hill brings Dakota credit union advocates to DC. Good morning from Washington, DC! Before talking about what’s ahead for our team this week in our nation’s capital, I wanted to provide a friendly reminder about our two Pints & Politics events happening next week in SD. I hope to see many of you on September 16th at the Homesteader in Gregory at 6:00 p.m. and September 19th at The Galley in Webster at 6:00 p.m. For a complete list of Pints & Politics dates and locations, click here. So, what are we up to in DC? Our DakCU Legislative and Regulatory Hike the Hill event is this week, with credit union professionals representing seven credit unions from across North and South Dakota traveling to Washington, D.C. Credit unions represented include: Healthcare Plus FCU; Dakotaland FCU; Northern Hills FCU, Black Hills FCU, Western Cooperative CU, Town and Country CU, and First Community CU. On the agenda today, we are discussing credit union issues with our regulators in a scheduled meeting with the CFPB and a tentative meeting with NCUA this afternoon. In the evening, we will be doing our debriefing at our hotel’s scenic rooftop venue, “Top of the Yard,” while enjoying a Nationals baseball game. I’m pretty excited for this because I became a “Nats” fan after living in D.C. We will close out the evening with a private tour of the Capitol building from U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson. Tomorrow, we will head up to Capitol Hill for meetings with both the North and South Dakota delegation. While we have a lot on our agenda; two focal points of legislation include:
To close out the evening, we will be eating at one of my favorite restaurants in DC, Osteria Morini. We will be accompanied by the Defense Credit Union Council’s Chief Advocacy Officer, Jason Stverak. I can’t wait to share the recap with you all next week! As always, don’t hesitate to contact me with any advocacy questions or concerns. Comments are closed.
