The credit union movement is strongest when its leaders, volunteers, and advocates bring their voices and expertise to the table. That opportunity is now available as America’s Credit Unions has opened applications for its national committees, inviting credit union professionals from across the country to help shape the future of the industry. Applications opened September 22 and will remain open through October 20, with committee members selected through an application process and notified before the end of the year.
Serving on a committee provides a unique opportunity to influence industry priorities, collaborate with peers from across the nation, and contribute expertise on issues that matter most to credit unions and their members. Whether your interests lie in advocacy, lending, compliance, innovation, fraud prevention, or supporting small credit unions, there are a variety of opportunities to get involved. As part of a recently approved restructuring, America’s Credit Unions is enhancing its committee framework to create stronger opportunities for member engagement and industry input. The application process includes the Volunteer Leadership Committee, which serves as a forum for volunteers and leaders to share perspectives and strengthen volunteer leadership throughout the movement, and the Small Credit Union Committee, which focuses on elevating the unique challenges and opportunities facing small credit unions while helping develop practical resources to support their success. Members selected for these committees will serve two-year terms. In addition, a new Advocacy Strategy Committee will serve as the primary forum for credit union leaders and advocates to help establish and prioritize the organization’s advocacy agenda. Five new policy committees will begin work in 2027, providing expertise and guidance on key industry issues:
These groups will provide valuable expertise and real-world perspectives to help inform policy discussions and strengthen credit union advocacy efforts nationwide. Dakota credit unions have always been strong advocates for the credit union movement, and this is an opportunity to ensure those voices continue to be represented at the national level. Dakota Credit Union Association encourages credit union professionals, volunteers, and industry leaders from across the Dakotas to consider applying for a committee that aligns with their expertise and interests. By sharing your experience and perspective, you can help shape industry priorities, strengthen advocacy efforts, and influence the future of credit unions nationwide. Interested individuals can review committee opportunities and submit an application here before the October 20 deadline. Comments are closed.
