Last Chance to Crash the GAC!

​Apply by December 1 to join emerging leaders in Washington, DC with FREE registration and a DakCU scholarship!

Each year, The Cooperative Trust connects a group of young credit union professionals and hosts a space for them to deepen their connection to the credit union mission during the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC). As a group, those selected experience unique sessions and activities all designed to enhance cooperation and collaboration within the credit union movement, in addition to attending the main events on the GAC “Big Stage.”

“Investing in the next generation of credit union leaders ensures that our movement remains strong and relevant,” said DakCU Interim President/CEO George McDonald. “Programs like America’s Credit Unions GAC Crasher experience inspire young professionals to bring fresh ideas and passion to our industry. That’s why DakCU created the DakCU Summit Crasher program here in the Dakotas to provide emerging leaders with the same kind of hands-on learning and networking opportunities right here at home. We’re excited to bring it back for the 2026 Summit, with applications expected to open in February.”

The GAC is our opportunity to highlight the meaningful work credit unions are doing to improve the financial well-being of their members and communities. If you are building a career in the industry, we strongly encourage you to apply as a GAC Crasher!

Details for applicants:

• Crash the GAC takes place March 1 to March 5.
• Applicants must submit a 60-second video.
• Selected Crashers receive free conference registration.
• Crashers are responsible for paying for hotel, transportation, and some food. DakCU will provide a scholarship to each Dakota Crasher.
• One Crasher will be selected per state unless a state does not have a Crash application. In that case, additional applicants may be selected based on state population size and diversity of the group.

​If selected as a GAC Crasher, you will:

• Hear from world-class keynote speakers.
• Participate in “Hike the Hill” meetings with your state group and DakCU leaders to meet with lawmakers, giving a voice to the “credit union difference.”
• Discover the latest offerings in the industry's largest exhibit hall and collect some fabulous giveaways!
• Network and learn from peers and thought leaders in credit unions, politics, and business.
• Experience Washington, D.C. in a unique environment.
