Hometown CU Shows Appreciation for Local Teachers

Multiple branches bring gifts to school faculty and staff for Teacher Appreciation Week, and bring graduation gifts for kindergarteners and graduating seniors. 

Hometown Credit Union (HCU) strongly believes in the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” and strives to be involved in their communities in many ways while adhering to the core values of commitment, reliability, and respectfulness. As part of community involvement, HCU enjoys being a part of their local schools, whether it’s to sponsor an event or to give back to the school faculty, staff, and students.

Multiple HCU branches presented gifts to the local school faculty and staff for Teacher Appreciation Week in May to show their appreciation of all the hard work and dedication they put into teaching the local students. They also gave the local kindergarten children graduation gifts, as well as the 2022 high school graduating students.

The Kulm HCU branch sponsored a Pee Wee wrestling tournament in March. The employees of this branch ran the concessions stands and enjoyed serving the children and their families. The Ashley HCU branch sponsored a girls’ basketball game at the Ashley Public School in January. They also created a presentation of careers that are available at HCU for the Ashley Careers in the Community class.

The Hazelton HCU branch sponsored the Hazelton Public School After-Grad Party, and the Medina HCU branch sponsored the Medina Public School Post-Prom Party for their local high school students. The Medina HCU branch also sponsored a “Bingo for Books” event in which everyone went home with at least one book. Additionally, they sponsored the Medina FFA Awards Banquet, served pizza at the Medina Public School, and gifted backpacks to the Pre-K through 6th grade students.

HCU believes it’s important to show their appreciation and commitment to the local school faculty, staff, and students, especially since they share similar core values. This is what makes the local communities a wonderful place to be – it’s truly “People Helping People” in action!
