By Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union is excited to announce the winners of its spring semester “Ca$h for the Classroom” program, which aims to support educators. With a board made up of current and former school employees, HAEFCU recognizes the unique challenges teachers face. This semester, Melody Witte-Trowbridge, a 6th-grade math teacher, and Kristi Winegar, a 7th-grade ELA teacher, both at the Huron Middle School, each received $150 to purchase classroom supplies. Over the years, this initiative has provided valuable support to educators, helping them enhance their classrooms and improve their students’ learning experiences. The credit union holds this drawing twice a year and the next drawing will be this fall. Educators in the counties of Beadle, Hand, Kingsbury, Sanborn and Spink who are members of the credit union are eligible and encouraged to contact HAEFCU and fill out a short application for their chance to get extra “Ca$h” for the Classroom. The Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union was formed in 1952 by a group of educators looking to provide a better financial option for their co-workers. In doing so they created a financial institution that understands the needs of educators, a philosophy still holds true today.
