The Dakota Credit Union Foundation Board of Directors held a regularly scheduled virtual meeting on Wednesday, October 16. Two items of new business were on the agenda: a proposed donation to CUAid, and the sweepstakes fundraising committee recommendations and vote for 2025. The board unanimously approved a $4,000 donation to CUAid for recent victims of hurricanes in the southeast portion of the United States. The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) put out a call for donations earlier this month. While CUAid is always open for donations, right now, our friends in the southeast portion of the United States need our support. Any credit unions or individuals who would like to contribute to CUAid can click here to donate now. The sweepstakes committee (Shannon Webster, Holly Steier, Kylee Lemieux, and Shawn Brummer) met early in October to narrow down options for the foundation’s annual sweepstakes. With feedback from former participants and sweepstakes supporters, the board recommended moving from a “one prize” vacation sweepstakes to a multi-level cash sweepstakes for 2025: CASH STASH SWEEPSTAKES! Besides the new name, the sweepstakes will accept donations in $20 increments with each donation receiving one entry, each $100 donation will receive six entries. There will also now be SIX cash winners:
The sweepstakes will be launched early in 2025 and once again, the prize drawing will take place LIVE during the Summit Awards Banquet. Finally, as a reminder, the foundation continues to accept grant/scholarship applications for projects and/or education and certifications that support financial well-being.
