The Dakota Credit Foundation Board of Directors held their annual meeting on May 14th at Grand Falls Casino & Resort in Larchwood, IA. The meeting agenda featured several business items, including reorganization of officers, review of fundraising efforts, and consideration of grant applications. The board approved two grant applications for the Financial Counseling Certification program (FiCEP). Congratulations to: Jen Walz, CEO of Minuteman FCU (Rapid City, SD); and Flor Miller, Loan Officer at Sioux Valley Co-op FCU (Watertown, SD). They each received a $1,000 grant to be used towards their certification. The Foundation Board volunteered to assist with registration for the Summit Golf Outing, where they also sold mulligans and extend-a-putts which raised $1,360, and chances to win cash in a 50/50 raffle, which raised $1,210. In addition, the Vacation Sweepstakes raised a grand total of $7,115 in donations, not including the $1,550 that was directly contributed by credit unions and CEOs towards the prize purchase. Once again, the Foundation thanks everyone who contributed to our charitable organization by participating in these important fundraisers.
