This has been a crazy year! Between the pandemic, new legislation in the Dakotas legalizing cannabis, and the ever-present challenges of strategic planning and leadership development, our members have requested timely and relevant information that they can use to enhance their credit unions performance. That is why this year’s Summit Breakout Sessions are focusing on topics that are front of mind right now and will continue to be in the foreseeable future.
A lot of legislative changes are now in place regarding cannabis in both states. Dealing with the expected changes that financial institutions will face to provide a legal and safe way to serve the cannabis industry has become a real hot button issue. That is why we are bringing Frank Drake – Credit Union Law Expert to present “Reefer Madness Meets Modern Business: Credit Unions and the Rise of Cannabis Banking.” He will also present “Fool Proof Board of Directors” – information that board members need to do the job, follow the law, and avoid the risk of personal liability. Nearly every credit union and board are apprehensive about strategic planning. Consulting and Competitive Market Expert Jim Kasch knows how to help credit unions adapt and thrive in the new competitive market. He will be leading two breakout sessions: Strategic Planning, and Leadership Development. With our exciting new partnership with Jim and Canidae Consulting, there are several exciting opportunities for impactful solutions for our Dakota credit unions. Is your credit union still feeling the effects of the pandemic? Do you need help working through critical human resource issues? HR Consultant and Trainer Dan Oakland will provide expert knowledge in the areas of supervision, leadership, team building, customer service, workplace communications, behavioral styles, and much more in his breakout session “HR Lessons from the Pandemic.” All this PLUS our mainstage attractions including: International Keynote Speaker & Brand Storyteller Melanie Spring. Her extensive corporate and personal branding experience will show you how to speak with confidence, how to create a branded experience, and how to tell your story and amplify your voice. CUNA Mutual Group Chief Economist Steve Rick. Let’s just say when Steve Rick speaks, credit unions listen! He will help you obtain a clear understanding of the underlying trends and links between the general economy, the financial services industry, and CUNA Mutual Group’s policy owners. And of course, our latest addition to the mainstage: our closing keynote Eric Chester who will present “On Fire at Work: Driving service through the frontline!” Eric is an acclaimed workforce researcher and thought leader who’s been studying, analyzing, speaking and writing about retaining top talent since 2001! We can’t wait to see you on May 3 – 4 in Fargo where we will reunite – and ignite our passion for our industry! Registration deadline is Friday, April 16, 2021. REGISTER NOW! Comments are closed.
