Huron, SD – Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has awarded ten area students with a total of $10,000 in college scholarships for the 2023-24 school year. Committee members from across Dakotaland’s ten branch communities judged nearly 60 applications this year. "Being on the scholarship committee was a great experience and a unique opportunity to learn more about the impressive things the students from our credit union service area are doing. I feel like I was able to build new relationships with these young members, especially the ones from my hometown,” stated Alex Wolkow, committee member and teller/member services representative from the De Smet Branch. The following winners were each awarded $1,000 to use toward their continued education.
“Dakotaland takes pride in supporting our next generation of young leaders. The level of accomplishment our area students have reached and the goals they have set for themselves is remarkable. I personally congratulate this year’s scholarship winners and wish them the best as they venture into their next chapter”, added Credit Union President, Ryan Goehner.
