Representatives from both large and small Dakota credit unions gathered at the Delta Hotel in Fargo, ND, on Monday, August 12, for the annual DakCU Professionals Forum. Each year, this event draws a diverse sampling from DakCU member credit unions, all with one common goal: to engage in meaningful conversation about issues that are important to Dakota credit unions and their members. This year, 14 unique credit unions attended the forum, including: Fargo Public Schools FCU; Community Credit Union; United Savings CU; North Star Community CU; Dakota Plains FCU; Western Cooperative Credit Union; Capital CU; Hometown CU; Dakota Plains CU; Oahe FCU; First Community CU; Town & Country CU; Area FCU; and Postal Family FCU. Some of the discussion topics during the open roundtable included HR concerns, such as hiring challenges, succession planning, leadership development, and employee evaluations. Regulatory and legislative issues were discussed, as well as operational concerns such as cybersecurity, as well as vendor contracts, and working with members in the digital space, just to name a few. The day ended with a casual social sponsored by Millennium Corporate, where conversations continued among attendees, while enjoying complimentary beverages and a variety of snacks. There was also the opportunity to win a wine gift basket in a raffle, with proceeds going to the Dakota Credit Union Foundation.
Today, many of the attendees from the Professionals Forum will gather at Fargo’s Rose Creek Golf Course for the Dakota Credit Union Foundation’s annual Golf Scramble and a chance to win $10,000 cash if they could sink a hole-in-one on the designated prize hole. The golfers will enjoy a beautiful day on the course, with a forecast of mostly sunny and moderate temperatures! 100 percent of this year’s golf scramble proceeds will once again be donated to the new CU4Kids Micropreemie Care Unit at Fargo Sanford Children’s Hospital. The project is expected to begin later this year, and currently has the support of more than 20 North Dakota credit unions exceeding $426,000 in pledges. Comments are closed.
