DakCU Partners with Rippleshot to Strengthen Fraud Prevention for Dakota Credit Unions

DakCU has partnered with Rippleshot to provide member credit unions access to complimentary fraud prevention tools that help identify emerging threats, collaborate with peers and better protect members.
Fraud continues to evolve, and so must the tools credit unions use to protect their members. That's why your Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) is excited to announce a new referral partnership with Rippleshot, providing Dakota credit unions access to innovative fraud prevention resources designed to identify threats before they spread.

Card fraud remains one of the greatest challenges facing financial institutions of every size. Through this new partnership, DakCU members can take advantage of two complimentary Rippleshot solutions, Fraud Interceptor and the Fraud Intelligence Collective (FIC), to help proactively detect and prevent fraud while collaborating with peers across the country.

"Fraud is one of the greatest challenges facing financial institutions today, and no credit union should have to fight that battle alone," said DakCU Chief Operating Officer George McDonald. "We're incredibly proud to launch this partnership with Rippleshot after more than a year of research and collaboration with credit union associations nationwide and our own member credit unions. Their insights were instrumental in helping us identify a partner that shares our commitment to protecting members and strengthening our movement. This partnership represents another important investment in giving Dakota credit unions the tools they need to stay ahead of fraudsters and continue delivering the trusted service their members expect."

Proactive Fraud Prevention
Fraud Interceptor helps credit unions identify high-risk merchants, emerging fraud patterns and coordinated attacks before losses occur. By analyzing anonymized transaction patterns across a nationwide network of financial institutions, the solution enables fraud teams to proactively block suspicious activity instead of simply reacting after members have been impacted.

The platform integrates with a credit union's existing fraud rules and workflows, requiring no new software or significant IT resources, while Rippleshot analysts work alongside fraud teams to provide ongoing support.

Strength Through Collaboration
The Fraud Intelligence Collective (FIC) gives Dakota credit unions access to a trusted, invitation-only network of verified fraud professionals from financial institutions across the country. Members can collaborate in real time to identify emerging fraud trends, compare suspicious activity and share insights on threats such as account takeovers, BIN attacks, wire fraud, first-party fraud and fraudulent mobile provisioning.

Participation also includes access to Rippleshot's Merchant Intelligence database, allowing fraud teams to quickly research suspicious merchants and determine whether an issue is isolated or impacting institutions nationwide.

Importantly, neither solution requires sharing member-level personal information. Fraud Interceptor uses anonymized transaction signals, while the Fraud Intelligence Collective is limited to vetted financial institution professionals.

"Fraud doesn't respect asset size," said Canh Tran, CEO of Rippleshot. "Through this partnership, DakCU member credit unions gain access to the Fraud Intelligence Collective, allowing a credit union with 5,000 members to benefit from the same emerging fraud intelligence as one serving 500,000 members."

Together, we can stay one step ahead of fraudsters while continuing to deliver the trusted service our members expect.

DakCU is committed to helping member credit unions access solutions that strengthen operations and protect members. If your credit union is interested in learning more about our new strategic partner Rippleshot or either of these complimentary solutions, contact your DakCU's George McDonald or visit www.rippleshot.com.
