Holiday Schedule
DakCU offices will be closed on Friday, July 4th, in observation of Independence Day. The day marks the historical event when the United States of America declared its independence from the rule of Great Britain. The declaration was adopted on July 4, 1776, and therefore, the holiday is commonly referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth. Please have a safe and enjoyable holiday!

Magnifi Financial Credit Union Expands with a new West Fargo Branch
Magnifi Financial Credit Union has broken ground on its newest branch in West Fargo, ND—its 27th location in the Upper Midwest and third in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Located on Sheyenne Street off I-94, the full-service branch reflects Magnifi’s continued investment in growing communities.
 
Founded in 1939, Magnifi is Minnesota’s fifth-largest credit union with $2.5 billion in assets. It is nationally recognized for strong performance, growth, and financial stability. CEO Chuck Friederichs emphasized the organization’s 85-year legacy and commitment to helping members achieve their financial goals. The new West Fargo location is expected to open in early 2026.

Bank of North Dakota offers FREE Communications Workshop to Communications Teams
Bank of North Dakota is sponsoring a special education event for all North Dakota financial institution communications staff on Monday, August 11, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. It will be held at the ND Heritage Center in Bismarck, ND. The workshop entitled “A Sense of Place and Story,” will be led by Emmy Award Winning journalist and film producer John Hubbell. Hubbell will weave North Dakota themes throughout the day to inspire communicators to share their financial institution’s story so they create stories that resonate with your credit unions’ clientele.
 
Attendees are responsible for their own meals. There is no restriction as to the number of team members who may attend, but each person must register because seating is limited. Alloya Corporate FCU Hosts Credit Union Leadership Symposium
Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union will host its 11th annual Credit Union Leadership Symposium on September 3–5 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston. The event will feature top-tier speakers, including industry experts and economist Elliot Eisenberg, plus an inspiring keynote from 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey captain Mike Eruzione. Attendees can expect valuable networking, engaging sessions, and memorable experiences like a Red Sox game at Fenway Park and Alloya’s popular Football Night. Resources for small credit unions
Last month, America’s Credit Unions introduced several valuable resources for small credit unions, including the Small Credit Union Organizational Charts & Staffing Strategies Guide—an 84-page PDF featuring proven business strategies from small credit unions across the country. They also re-released the Small Credit Union Succession Planning Guide, now accompanied by a newly rebranded Workbook and Checklist, all available in the Small Credit Union Community. Don’t forget to explore these tools along with the widely-used Blueprints for Small Credit Union Success.
