Credit Unions for Kids Micropreemie Unit Celebrates Grand Opening
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the Credit Unions for Kids Micropreemie Unit at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo will celebrate its official ribbon cutting and grand opening. The morning event will begin with a breakfast social from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., followed by a program and ceremony from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
 
This state-of-the-art unit is dedicated to providing life-saving care to the hospital’s tiniest and most fragile patients—micropreemies. The new facility is a testament to the generosity and commitment of the Credit Unions for Kids initiative, a collaborative effort among credit unions to support children's hospitals and ensure the best possible care for young patients and their families.

Fargo VA Federal Credit Union Celebrates 90 Years
On April 12, 1935, seven employees of the VA came together to establish the Fargo VA Federal Credit Union, launching the credit union with just $600 in shares. Still proudly located within the Fargo VA Healthcare System building, they have remained dedicated to serving our members for nine decades. On April 25, 2025, they celebrated their 90th Anniversary with a special Open House. More than 350 people joined for the occasion, where they served cake and held prize drawings every 90 minutes, awarding $90 to lucky members throughout the day. 
 
BHFCU Breaks Ground on New Spearfish Drive-Up
On April 14, 2025, Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) broke ground on a major update to its Spearfish branch. Rather than relocating, BHFCU is expanding across Main Street to enhance services and convenience for the community. The first phase includes a new drive-up facility with four teller lanes at Main and Kansas Streets to reduce wait times and improve traffic flow. Phase two will involve building a new branch, with no disruption to member services. BHFCU has proudly served Spearfish since 1985 and looks forward to continuing its commitment to the area.
 
Southeast 605 Chapter of Credit Unions Hosts 23rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Get ready to tee off for a great cause! The Southeast 605 Chapter of Credit Unions is excited to host its 23rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
 
Golfers, sponsors, and supporters are invited to join a day filled with fun, friendly competition, and community spirit. The event kicks off with registration at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapter meeting at 10:30 AM, and a shotgun start at 11:00 AM. Individual golfer registration is $100, with an optional $25 on-course game package that includes two mulligans and entry to the putting contest. Extra mulligans will also be available for purchase.
