CUs in the News is a spotlight series celebrating the incredible work happening across our Dakota credit unions. From standout promotions and community giveback efforts to innovative programs and member-focused initiatives, this series will showcase how our credit unions live out the “people helping people” philosophy each and every day. Levo Credit Union Announces 11 Day of Giving Recipients in Honor of Grand Opening Levo Credit Union® is celebrating its expansion into the Fargo-Moorhead community by giving back through its inaugural Day of Giving initiative. Levo, which opened its Fargo branch at 2975 Uptown Way in January 2026, awarded $11,000 in donations to 11 local nonprofit organizations. “We learned about so many wonderful organizations in Fargo-Moorhead through the Day of Giving,” said Noel Snyder, Veterans Boulevard Branch Manager. “These charities have a lot in common with Levo, as we all believe in helping our communities. We had so many great applicants, in fact, that we decided to award 11!” The recipients were selected through an application process and reviewed by a donations committee that included Fargo branch employees. Organizations were evaluated based on community impact, IRS requirements, and other factors. The 11 organizations receiving $1,000 donations include: Boys and Girls Clubs of the Red River Valley, BIO Girls, Davies Booster Club, Family Wellness, Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation, Great North Pole, Homeward Animal Shelter, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley, West Fargo Eats, West Fargo Sheyenne Mustang Boosters, and YMCA of the Northern Sky. The Levo Cares Foundation, funded primarily by Levo and employee contributions, has donated more than $405,400 to charitable causes over the past five years. In addition, Levo employees volunteer more than 1,000 hours annually, supported by company-sponsored volunteer programs and charitable giving initiatives. In December 2023, Levo expanded its service area from four counties surrounding Sioux Falls to 29 counties across South Dakota, Iowa, North Dakota, and Minnesota. Today, Levo operates eight branches and offers online financial services throughout its expanded footprint. Read the full story here. Aspen Federal Credit Union Receives Beautification Award from Rapid City Chamber of Commerce We are honored to share that Aspen Federal Credit Union has been recognized with the Elevate Rapid City Beautification Award for our West Main Branch remodel. Our renovation, completed in 2025, was much more than an updated building. It was an opportunity to reimagine the experience for our members. We completely transformed the branch, gutting the interior and renovating both the inside and outside of the building. Every design choice was intentional, creating a modern, welcoming space that reflects who we are as a credit union. At Aspen FCU, we believe banking is about relationships. Our goal was to design a branch that embodies our commitment to face-to-face service. A place where our members feel comfortable, valued, and at home from the moment they walk through the door. When Elevate Rapid City informed us that we had been nominated for the Beautification Award, we were incredibly honored. Winning the award was an even bigger surprise! As you'll see from the photos, our team's reactions say it all! We were genuinely humbled and thrilled by the recognition. We're grateful to Elevate Rapid City for this honor and thankful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. Most importantly, thank you to our members and community for allowing us to create a space that serves you today and for years to come. We are proud to continue investing in our community and creating places where relationships can grow. Aspire Credit Union Partners with Companions for Children to Support Local Youth Community Giving Aspire Credit Union has selected Companions for Children as its 2026 nonprofit partner, supporting the organization's mission to help local youth build confidence, connections, and opportunities through meaningful mentoring relationships. "At Aspire Credit Union, we believe in investing in people and strengthening our community," said Rianne Kuhn, Marketing and Community Impact Director. "Companions for Children is making a lasting impact on the lives of local youth, and we're excited to help raise awareness of their mission while encouraging others to get involved." Companions for Children serves nearly 200 youth annually in the Minot area through mentoring programs designed to foster confidence, life skills, and positive relationships. As part of the partnership, Aspire will host several donation drives throughout the summer, collecting items such as building kits, craft supplies, and other resources to support participating youth. In addition to fundraising efforts, Aspire employees are actively involved in mentoring programs, serving as Pen Pals and Lunch Pals for local students. Companions for Children is currently recruiting additional volunteers for several mentoring opportunities, and community members are encouraged to get involved through volunteer service or financial contributions.
