There’s a place on Capitol Hill that tells our story. This is where advocacy gets personal, relationships grow stronger, and the credit union voice is amplified right on Capitol Hill. That place is Credit Union House, and its next chapter is underway. At the Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU), we’ve long recognized Credit Union House as a symbol of unity and a physical representation of our system’s cooperative strength. Established in the early 2000s to create a permanent and unmistakable credit union presence on Capitol Hill, its history reflects a deep-rooted commitment to influencing public policy in ways that help credit unions better serve their members and communities. For more than two decades, Credit Union House has been the heart of credit union advocacy, a gathering place where our collective voice has been heard, respected, and advanced. It has hosted more than 2,000 events, all 100% funded by the credit union system, each one strengthening our ability to build relationships and elevate industry priorities. Now, Credit Union House is being reimagined. A full modernization is underway to transform it into a dynamic, interactive space that showcases the strength, innovation, and impact of credit unions nationwide. From immersive storytelling to upgraded technology and expanded event space, this project is designed to connect with lawmakers more meaningfully than ever before. The modernization will also enhance the Hall of Leaders, a permanent exhibit honoring the influential figures who have shaped the credit union movement through service and advocacy. Many leaders from North and South Dakota are proudly represented in this prestigious recognition, underscoring the Dakotas’ long-standing impact on advancing the credit union mission. While at the AACUL Winter Conference, Credit Union House leaders shared a compelling benchmark: if every credit union contributed just ten cents per member, Credit Union House would reach its full modernization goal! This illustrates how achievable, and powerful, collective support can be when our movement acts together. DakCU is proud to be a founding owner of Credit Union House and to have contributed funding towards this historic modernization. We included an invitation to support the project within your annual membership brochure and dues initiative, so many of you may have already seen this request. We humbly ask you, again, to consider a contribution to help bring this vision fully to life. Your support ensures that Credit Union House remains a powerful platform where we advocate not only for today’s members, but for generations of credit union leaders to come. Visit support.cuhouse.com to make a contribution and help write the next chapter of Credit Union House. About Credit Union House: Since 2001, Credit Union House has been the epicenter for credit union advocacy in Washington, D.C. It’s where credit union leaders and policymakers come together to discuss ideas, share stories, and advance the movement’s mission. The upcoming renovation will enhance its role as a state-of-the-art resource for advocacy, helping credit unions tell their story in fresh, compelling ways. Comments are closed.
