Credit Union Champions, Some weeks in life remind us why we do what we do. Last week at the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) in Washington, D.C., was one of those weeks. It was a time for connection, advocacy, and, thanks to you, an unforgettable milestone for North Dakota’s credit union movement. Because of your generosity, passion, and belief in the power of credit unions, we shattered records—raising an astounding $14,280 during the Chairman’s Challenge and Sweepstakes! And let me tell you, it wasn’t just about the dollars. It was about the spirit behind them. North Dakota, you showed up. You stood shoulder to shoulder with fellow credit union advocates, took time from your busy lives to walk the halls of Congress, and made sure our voices rang loud and clear in meetings with U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer, U.S. Representative Julie Fedorchak, and so many more. You didn’t just attend—you led. And when it came to the Chairman’s Challenge? Well, let’s just say North Dakota didn’t back down. With Paul Bruecker and Chad Moller rallying the troops, we raised an incredible $6,305, helping to fuel the advocacy work that protects the financial well-being of our members and communities. While South Dakota took home the "three-peat" victory this year, we know one thing for sure—North Dakota’s credit union family is stronger than ever. This record-breaking achievement belongs to you. The mothers, daughters, sons, and fathers of our state. The very backbone of our community from Ruso, Amidon, Colfax, all the way to Fargo. DakCU appreciates your commitment to a great belonging. Because at the heart of every credit union, every advocacy effort, and every dollar raised, we are fighting to ensure that every member, every community, and every hardworking North Dakotan belongs—to a financial system that puts people first. To every single donor, every supporter, every person who believes in the credit union difference, thank you. Your contributions are more than just financial; they are a commitment to our mission, to our members, and to the future of credit unions in North Dakota. With gratitude, pride, and excitement for what’s ahead, John Alexander DakCU Director of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Comments are closed.
