December is a season of generosity, and Capital Credit Union continues to bring that spirit to life through a thoughtful tradition that puts community first. For the third consecutive year, Capital CU dedicated $1,000 per Board member—$7,000 total to support local nonprofits personally selected by its volunteer Board. The initiative began as a creative way to use remaining donation funds, inspired by a program Capital CU had offered years ago. Revived in 2023, it quickly gained momentum and has since become a meaningful annual tradition embraced by both the Board and Executive Team. What makes this effort especially impactful is its personal touch. Each Board member selects a nonprofit that reflects their own passions, and members of Capital CU’s Executive Team join them to personally deliver the donation. These visits offer a chance to learn more about the organizations’ missions, connect with those doing the work, and strengthen relationships throughout the community. Over the past three years, Board-directed donations have supported a wide range of organizations making a difference close to home, including:
Each donation represents more than financial support; it reflects shared values, personal commitment, and Capital Credit Union’s ongoing dedication to investing in the communities it proudly serves.
