![]() December is often a time for reflection and giving, and Capital Credit Union embraced that spirit in a heartfelt way by supporting local charities that matter most to their Board members. For the second year in a row, Capital CU allocated $1,000 per Board member—amounting to a total of $7,000—to donate to non-profits of their choosing. This endeavor began as a creative use of Capital CU’s remaining donation budget, playing off an idea Capital CU used to do many years ago. The idea was met with enthusiasm in 2023, and the tradition was continued. The initiative not only allows Capital CU to give back but also provides a unique opportunity to learn about the passions and priorities of their volunteer Board members. Each member selects a local non-profit, and Capital CU’s Executive Team joins them to personally deliver the donation and learn more about the organization’s work. Take, for example, Lance Gaebe, a Capital CU Board member who chose Crisis Care Chaplaincy as his charity. Lance discovered the organization through Bismarck’s Citizen Police Academy and was inspired by its mission. For Capital CU staff, this was a chance to explore the vital support Crisis Care Chaplaincy provides to first responders and others in crisis. The experience even led one Capital CU team member to share a volunteer opportunity with their own family, demonstrating the "trickle effect" of this thoughtful project. The last two years, Capital CU’s Board donations supported a variety of impactful organizations including:

They offer personal and business financial solutions including auto, home equity and mortgage loans, checking and savings accounts, business loans and more to individuals and businesses located within a 75-mile radius of Bismarck, Fargo, Hazen or Flasher, or a 50-mile radius of Beulah or New Salem
