Fort Randall Federal Credit Union (Fort Randall FCU) is leading the charge in delivering innovative financial technology to rural South Dakota. As a trailblazer in the region, Fort Randall FCU is continuously looking for forward-thinking solutions to enhance accessibility for members in underserved communities. Their latest initiative? Implementing National Cash Register (NCR) deposit-taking ATMs to meet the evolving needs of their members. Under the leadership of CEO Julie Thomson and VP of Operations Audrey Fink, Fort Randall FCU has a long-standing tradition of pioneering advancements like debit cards, online banking, and Teller Cash Recyclers. Serving communities with assets totaling $55 million, their mission is rooted in improving financial access in low-income areas. Faced with aging ATM technology, Fort Randall FCU sought to modernize with machines offering advanced deposit-taking capabilities. Federal grants and one of Dakota Credit Union Association’s trusted partners, Bankers Equipment Service helped them tackle operational inefficiencies and expand services to areas without branches. The seamless installation of NCR ATMs improved member experiences, offering features like custom bill denominations and reducing trips to branches. Operationally, Teller Cash Recyclers have streamlined workflows, allowing staff to focus on member service. The smooth transition and comprehensive training ensured a positive impact from day one.
