Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) celebrated the grand opening of its new Box Elder Member Service Center on Friday, September 29, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located on Liberty Blvd in Box Elder, the new Member Service Center provides convenient access closer to home for many BHFCU members in the community and other outlying communities east of Rapid City. “We will be able to more conveniently serve new and existing members with this new Member Service Center,” said Jerry Schmidt, president and CEO. “Having a location in Box Elder will allow easier access for our members in the nearby communities and those who work in the area.” The branch is BHFCU’s 7th location in the greater Rapid City area and 19th overall. The Box Elder branch features three drive-up lanes, five offices, and Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) technology. With expanded hours, drive up service is available Monday – Friday 7 am – 7 pm and Saturday 8 am – 1 pm. “We are excited to reach our goal of better serving Box Elder and the greater Rapid City area and look forward to improving the lives of more members,” said Schmidt. Members of the BHFCU leadership team and credit union management joined Box Elder community leaders for the grand opening celebration. The location opened and began serving members last week. Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-forprofit financial cooperative serving more than 102,000 members. The community-chartered credit union has locations in Box Elder, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Pierre, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota; and Billings, Montana.
