![]() This credit union supports organizations focused on children’s health and wellness with their staff-led Community Action Team program. Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) believes it is imperative to support the passions of its staff. That’s why they promote the staff-led Community Action Team (CAT) program and are proud to share that staff raised $3,600 this fall. Throughout October, the CAT program supported organizations focused on kids’ health and wellness. The effort raised money for the Children’s Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House, the Children’s Home Society, and the Autism Society of the Black Hills. CAT co-chairs organized two ways for staff to get involved. On a blustery mid-October day, they hosted a chili and soup eat-in. With a dozen types of soup to choose from, no one was left hungry and lots of money was raised. “What I love most about the CAT program is the opportunity it provides staff to collect donations for causes they are passionate about,” said Connie Price, Contact Center Manager. “When my family needed support, the Autism Society of the Black Hills was there for us. To have my workplace now help me pay it forward to the next family who needs that support is priceless.” At the end of the month, staff also participated in a Halloween Costume Contest. The competition was stiff, but three winners were selected by their peers. While they now hold bragging rights for the next year, the four benefiting organizations were the real winners. BHFCU presented each with a $900 donation. BHFCU supports community needs through corporate contributions, employee fundraisers, and donations from members and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative serving more than 102,000 members. The community chartered credit union has locations in Rapid City, Box Elder, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Pierre, Sioux Falls, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota, and Billings, Montana.
