And the Winner Is…..

​Dakota Credit Union Foundation announces the winner of the Vacation Sweepstakes! Plus, a sincere “thank you” to everyone who participated in this important fundraiser.

One of the highlights of the Awards Banquet during the DakCU Summit last week was the Dakota Credit Union Foundation’s Vacation Sweepstakes prize drawing!

Foundation Board Chair, April Tompkins, had the honor of announcing the winner from the random drawing of all entries using the Wheel of Names platform. Each $25 donation received one chance on the wheel; each $100 donation received five chances. The “spin” was performed for the live audience of more than 200 guests at the Grand Falls Casino & Resort.   

We are thrilled to share that Melanie Stillwell, retired CEO of Western Cooperative Credit Union (Williston, ND) was the winner of the grand prize: a $5,000 voucher for a dream vacation of her choice!

Melanie was a very special guest of honor at Summit this year, as she was being inducted into the Dakota Credit Union Association’s Hall of Fame. Her family and many friends were with her when her name was drawn, a very exciting moment indeed and very fitting, as Melanie loves to travel!

This year, the Vacation Sweepstakes raised $7,115 in entries/donations, and an additional $1,550 for the prize funding from direct donations from credit unions and CEOs.  

On behalf of the Foundation Board, a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this exciting fundraiser. All proceeds will support sponsorships of financial education events, financial literacy classroom programs; scholarships to Dakota credit union staff for professional development education and certification programs; and our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
